Karen Builds a Violin

In “Karen Builds a Violin”, Karen, a young girl, wishes she had a violin.  Karen decides to  make a violin but needs some help from her animal friends.  Fun costumes and lively  musical selections represent each animal, with musical styles throughout the program ranging from classical to bluegrass to ragtime.  Students interact with the performers as  they learn about the parts of a violin, how it is made, and how a violin makes music.  The  importance of cooperation and of teaching and learning are emphasized.  Students also see how creativity can help them to transform raw materials into something new and  exciting. Grades Pre K-3

“The children were simply spellbound; they recognized true artistry"
